June is National Safety Month but our commitment to safety is all year as evidenced by our excellent safety record at all Fairmont Supply locations. Fairmont Supply has several distribution facilities that have been exception free for over 10 years!
At Fairmont Supply, we look at Safety as a “Condition of Employment.” Our employees are empowered to stop any of our now nearly 400 employees if they witness an unsafe act or condition. We realize that as an employer we are responsible for our employees returning home to their families in the condition they were when they came to work. While our results exceed industry standards, we will not be satisfied until we achieve a 100% exception free workplace.
As a company that provides on-site integrated functions with our customers, we are fully compliant with all Safety Rules & Regulations in place by the appropriate governing agencies as well as site specific requirements. As your supplier of choice, we embrace the fact that a safe work environment enables us to insure that our Operating Model of “Our Employees,” “Our Customers,” and “Our Financials” are able to be achieved every day!
Take a look at how Fairmont Supply’s total company stats compare to companies in our NAICS class and size for 2017:
Fairmont Supply total recordable rate 2017 – 0.82
The recordable rate is the number of serious injuries in an OSHA calculation derived from a 100 employee formula. The total recordable rate of injuries is a comparison to how many actual hours are worked by employees.
NAICS 423800 class with 50-249 employees – Avg. 3.5
Fairmont Supply total company lost day case rate 2017 – 0.41
The lost time case rate measures how many injuries resulted in employees missing time from work – put off work by a doctor for a work-related injury. This is also an OSHA calculation derived from a 100 employee formula in comparison to how many actual hours worked by employees.
NAICS 423800 class with 50-249 employees – Avg. 1.1
